COMMON DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PUBLIC SECTOR AND PRIVATE SECTOR IN EDUCATION IN INDIA.
The government has fewer measures, assessmens, feed back and follow ups of progress or success than the private sector, although that is changing as a result of the Government Performance Reform Act GPRA requirements. Career based employees are more in private sector than Govt sector. In govt political employees are more.
Problems and challenges and solutions are not permanent and at all permitted in private sector. But in Govt sector no such permanent solutions to a problems. Problems are permanent.
The distractions such as political or personal, with its implications for the performance of the individual and those organizationally above or below the individual, does not occur in the private sector. But in Govt sector influence speaks louder than performance.
Importantly lack of support to team leader is more found in Govt sector. It is not at all in private sector
But Action and Reaction is quick in private sector. In Govt sector it is slower.
Protection, social security is good at Govt sector. Sadly it is not in private. Specially for the whistle blowers
Private sector knows well to influence the Govt. But Govt sector cannot do that.
In most outstanding private sector organizations there are clear, well-understood, job-by-job, top-to-bottom goals and objectives. In government, goals and objectives have been well -formed, but fuzzy and soft.
Authority is more and responsibility is less in Govt sector. Reverse in private sector.
Private sector can open any strategies for their market added value. Govt has to follow certain norms and standards.
The key reality to the private sector is market-driven competition, whereas the same in the government is almost always a legislated monopoly.

No constraints for compensation. Depends on situational demands and needs in Private.
