Examination results analysis in schools

Dr Sekar Seenivasan

Shall we discuss about quantitative examination result analysis.
This has two parameters learning effectiveness and teaching effectiveness tobe evolved from marks details from class teachers.

This formulated by me with my teaching  team as a component in CCE. This procedure was appreciated by Dr Vinith Joshi then Director CBSE board got appreciation letter from HRD ministry Mrs Smirithi Rani.

¶ How to calculate i will explain with examples.

This analysis was much useful in principal teacher student meetings, parent teacher meeting, oosting and posting during year end, rewarding best teachers and so on. A very vital assessment tool for Academic Audit

Teaching effectiveness =((total number of students appeared)-(number of students below class average))/total number of students
This should be in percentage.

Learning effectiveness =((number of students appeared)-(number of students above cut off)) / number of students above class average.
This should also be in percentage

Example for calculations in photographs.

You can see in the above calculations more students have understood  well due to teacher's teaching effectiveness. Some slow learners explicitly depict learning effectiveness with lesser percentage.

This is the format for individual subject teacher. Class teacher consolidate for all subjects in her class. Vice principals consolidate different sections of a standard. Principal conducts standard wise review

How much percentage of improvement needed can also be calculated by this method.

For teachers based on the self apprisal forms vice principals observation chart and principals personal performance files consolidation couldbe done by school administrators.
